We have a date for re-opening

We've lots to do but we can't wait to get going!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – PLEASE READ
As you may know, some counties libraries are reopening, on a click & collect basis only, from 13th July onwards. Community Libraries are looking to open during the next phase (later in the summer).
The Deepings Library have given careful consideration to the requirements for reopening and we’ve decided to set a date of Saturday 5th Sept to reopen to the public. We appreciate this may seem like a long time to wait but we believe that by choosing this date to reopen we can offer a much better service to you, our members.
The Deepings Library experience is all about engagement with our members and visitors. We wish for you and your families to be able to access the books and browse the shelves, where possible. We are hopeful that by waiting until Sept 5th this may be possible (with a one way system and social distancing in place). We are also hoping that we’ll be able to allow access to the public pcs as we know these are a very important part of our library service (we of course will be following the most recent government guidelines available at that time of opening). We plan to be able to open in Sept with our full opening hours rather than confuse matters with partial opening/reduced hours.
With a new I.T system being introduced to all Lincs Libraries at the end of July, we’ll need extra time to allow our staff and volunteers to receive appropriate training for this as well as getting to grips with a new “normal”
Once given access to the building from LCC we’ll need time to make the relevant changes to the library to ensure our volunteers and visitors feel safe and comfortable at all times.
In the meantime we will be adding to our online offering of activities via our Facebook Page and once we have access to the library (whether we are open to the public or not) we’ll start streaming our Wednesday story times direct from the library.
When we do re open it is still likely that there will be social distancing, limited numbers and no access to group activities. These things will take more time to reintroduce as and when the government guidelines allow.
Between now and then, we of course cannot be 100% sure what is going to happen, we can only hope. However what we can be sure of is that when we do open we will be ready with welcoming smile. We look forward to seeing life back in the library on Sat 5th Sept from 10am.
