Not only does the Library offer a wide selection of books, including the very latest titles to borrow but there are also other services available. Please note that due to the current restrictions some services are limited or require pre-booking (use of computers for example) This is a library that caters for all tastes and abilities!
There are six PCs available for use – all central within a wide space. A range of computer-based services are available for you to utilise when needed including Ancestry which you can access free of charge from the Library computers.
The Library printer is available to all – cheap and reliable, just 10p in black and white for an A4 sheet and 25p in colour. For A3 prints it is 25p for black and white and 50p for colour.
Situated throughout the library are quiet study areas to allow you to work quietly on your own – while of course having access to books and the PCs to help with your research.
Brightly coloured furniture, cushions and curtains make the children’s library friendly and inviting. At the moment the jungle theme is proving very popular – we have a great Jungle Reading Hut for your little ones to snuggle up in with a book selected from the easily accessible shelves nearby. There is often dressing up items on the book display shelves to allow for creative play.
To complete your experience of sitting and reading a book, one of the glossy magazines or catching up with the local newspapers we offer a selection of hot drinks from our easy to use machine.
The Library offers drop in sessions that cover a wide variety of areas including CV help, PC buddies and job hunting. Our friendly volunteers are more than willing to listen and chat.
