Harry Potter Quiz Night Thursay 3rd Feb 1830-2000 -: We will be hosting a Harry Potter quiz night pick your brains on your knowledge of all things magical and wonderful. £3.50 pp max 4 per team. Bring your own refreshments

Summer Reading Challenge

SUMMER READING CHALLENGE LAUNCHES  – This year the Summer Reading Challenge has joined forces with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to create a Really Wild reading challenge – it’s simple read (or share if you are unable to read) 6 books from the library over the next 6 weeks – get small prizes along the way and a medal if you finish!

Heritage and Hopshackle!

 Heritage Open Day – postponed> – Talk and Tour of the Library Building. Learn about the history of the house and visit areas not open to the public. Limited numbers booking essential no charge 2-4pm

 

POSPONED Date TBC – Hopshackle Brewery – Thurs 24th Sept 7.30-9pm to us about there process, plus they’ll be a chance to taste and buy some of their produce – what a nice way to welcome in the autumn! £3.50pp inc refreshments

Horrid Histories, Hedgehogs and Halloween!

POSTPONED TO 2022 We are holding our first History Fun Day 10-3pm: Hoping to become one  of our renown regular fun days of the future (alongside, Harry Potter, Star Wars and Christmas) we will be hosting a day when the most gruesome and horrid parts of history will come alive! Come dressed are your favourite character from history and have a fun day with us!

Hibernating Hedgehogs -Postponed date TBC: Have you got a resident hedgehog and want to know how to keep them safe over winter? or perhaps you want to know how to make your garden a welcome save haven for our little prickly friends? £3.50 pp inc refreshments

Halloween Family Fun – Sat 3oth October 10-3pm: Spooky Craft to take home and join in for a family spooky story time – no booking necessary,  and crafts (50p each)

Life in the Fens – Thurs 19th Nov, 7.30-9pm: Join local author Rex Sly for a fascinating look at our local area and specifically the fens, learn where exactly the “Fens” are and what it was like working in them in the past. £3.50pp inc refreshments. You’ll also have a chance to buy books from Rex, “From Punt to Plough” “Exploring Fen Edge” and “Fenland Families” on the night.

Due to the pandemic we are unsure if these events will be able to go ahead as planned – please check back for updates or follow us on social media.

Christmas Fun day – Date and time TBC Once again  we will be holding our fun day for families. Crafts, stories, tombola, cake and of course the big man himself! Book your timed slot (no queuing) to see Father Christmas for just £4.00 per child, booking at the library essential. Father Christmas will be with us from midday to 3pm.
